About the Programme
The B.Com. (Honours) program is the flagship program of S S Dempo College of Commerce and Economics. The annual enrollment in B.Com. program of the college is well over 850 students. The B. Com. program is a 3 Year (6 Semesters) full time program affiliated to Goa University and follows Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) offering a number of elective papers to chose from under various categories of Skill Enhancement Courses and Generic Electives. The program aims at nurturing, healthy, reliable and creative citizens by providing holistic education that focuses on academic, social and emotional development of students. The programme offers opportunity of specialization in the areas of Advanced Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Business Management and Banking and Finance. The programmes provides students with opportunities to acquire right skills set and enables them to apply their knowledge in the real world of Commence.
B.Com. (Hons.) Programme Outcomes
2. Develop analytical skills with application of relevant tools and methods in accounting, finance, economics and quantitative science for building better business insights, resolve emerging organizational issues and implement effective planning.
3. Develop decision making skills in particular context of alternative solutions to maximize the contribution of an enterprise in accomplishment of stakeholders’ goals.
4. Develop effective communication skills for managing organizational people-to-people transactions, business correspondence, and enhancing organizational image.
5. Provide employable human resource in the area of accounting, finance and general administration and nurture entrepreneurial talent for building future organizations.

(a) The Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in any stream, including Vocational stream in the subjects notified by the University from time to time.
(b) Std XII Arts/Science/Commerce or similar examination of another body, equivalent to Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Goa, and recognized as such by Goa University.
The admission to first year of B.Com. program is generally held in the month of May every year after the results of HSSC examinations are declared. Candidates can however, purchase the B.Com. program prospectus even before the declaration of HSSC results. The admission process is online. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions are required to fill online admission form on the college website. After a defined cut-off date, the college generates merit list of candidates based on their HSSC marks and the list is made available on the college website. Selected candidates from the merit list are allotted specific days to visit the college office and complete the remaining process of verification of necessary documents and payment of admission fees. Admission fees are to be paid through debit/credit card only. Candidates are advised to visit college website for relevant information and instructions on admission during the admission period
